MOTORVAULT is pleased to offer this 2009 Superformance GT40 MkII, chassis GT40P2176.

Finished in silver with black center stripes, this GT40 has been extensively developed beyond its original Superformance configuration. At the center of the build is a Keith Craft 427 cubic inch Ford V8 paired with a Dallas Performance twin turbo system. The combination produced 850.36 horsepower and 746.7 lb ft of torque at the rear wheels, putting estimated engine output comfortably above 1,000 horsepower.

Power is delivered through a Ricardo 6 speed manual transaxle with electronic/sequential shift control and a KCM twin disc clutch.

The car has approximately 91 indicated miles and received extensive service and sorting in 2026.

ENGINE & PERFORMANCE

The Keith Craft 427ci Ford V8 is equipped with a comprehensive forced induction and engine management package.

Equipment includes:

• Keith Craft 427ci Ford V8
• Dallas Performance twin turbo system
• Twin turbochargers with heat shielding
• Air to water intercooling
• Large front mounted heat exchanger
• Billet intake components
• Billet intake manifold
• Electronic fuel injection
• AEM engine management
• Custom intake plumbing
• Dual center exit exhaust
• Electric cooling fans
• Remote engine start capability

The car was chassis dyno tested at:

850.36 horsepower at the wheels
746.7 lb ft of torque at the wheels

Based on drivetrain loss, engine output is estimated at more than 1,000 horsepower.

The engine is visible beneath the rear glass, with the polished charge piping and twin turbo installation occupying much of the rear compartment.

TRANSMISSION

Power is sent through a Ricardo 6 speed manual transaxle sourced from the 2005–2006 Ford GT, paired with an electronic/electric sequential shift system and KCM twin disc clutch.

The Ricardo itself is a conventional 6 speed manual transaxle. The sequential terminology refers to the electronic shift system operating the transmission rather than the gearbox being a purpose built sequential unit.

The drivetrain includes:

• Ricardo 6 speed manual transaxle
• Electronic/sequential shift control
• KCM twin disc clutch
• Three pedal layout
• Center mounted shift controls

The sequential setup gives the car a noticeably different character from a conventional manual GT40 replica while still retaining a clutch pedal.

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION

Like other Superformance GT40s, the car is constructed around a steel monocoque chassis intended to closely replicate the architecture and proportions of the original GT40.

Suspension equipment includes:

• Independent front and rear suspension
• Adjustable dampers
• Adjustable compression and rebound
• Remote reservoir shocks
• Front suspension lift system
• Wilwood four wheel disc brakes

The front lift system provides additional clearance when negotiating steep driveways, ramps and similar situations.

EXTERIOR

The GT40 is finished in silver with twin black racing stripes extending over the body.

Exterior details include:

• GT40 MkII bodywork
• Twin black center stripes
• Front hood vents
• Front quick release hardware
• Exposed front cooling opening
• Twin rear deck air scoops
• Side air intakes
• Clear side windows with sliding ventilation panels
• GT40 exterior badging
• GT40 fuel filler caps
• Rear mesh panels
• Quad round taillights
• Twin center exhaust outlets
• Rear spoiler
• Exposed rear chassis and drivetrain structure

The rear treatment is especially mechanical, leaving much of the transaxle, chassis and exhaust visible below the bodywork in the style of a competition car.

WHEELS & TIRES

The car rides on GT40 style 17 inch wheels with gray centers, polished outer lips and three ear knock off retainers.

REAR

TIRE DATE CODES
Front: 01/23
Rear: 01/23

Tread depth measures approximately 9/32 inch.

INTERIOR

The cockpit remains unmistakably GT40 in layout but incorporates a number of modern upgrades.

Equipment includes:

• Black cockpit
• Black bucket seats with suede inserts
• Multi point racing harnesses
• MOMO style GT40 steering wheel
• Snap off steering wheel hub
• Holley EFI digital instrument display
• Sequential gear indicator
• Kenwood touchscreen audio system
• Retractable navigation / display screen
• Air conditioning
• Door mounted HVAC controls
• Door mounted speakers
• Subwoofer
• Carpeted interior
• GT40 embroidered floor mats
• Handbrake
• Fire extinguisher
• Sliding side window vents
• Push button ignition

The digital Holley EFI display provides speed, engine rpm, oil pressure, fuel pressure, coolant temperature and system voltage information.

RECENT SERVICE

The GT40 received extensive service and sorting through Slate Performance Automotive during 2026, with invoices totaling approximately $7,309.25.

Work performed included attention to the cooling, electrical and interior systems along with general sorting of the car.

Recent work included:

• Replacement radiator

Supporting service documentation accompanies the car.

HISTORY & PROVENANCE

Chassis GT40P2176 was previously offered at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, where it was described as a highly developed Superformance GT40 powered by a Keith Craft twin turbo 427ci small block Ford V8.

Barrett-Jackson represented the car as producing approximately 1,200 horsepower and as having more than $480,000 invested in its build and development. Their description also documented the Dallas Performance twin turbo system, air to water intercooler setup, billet intake and manifold, custom AEM ECU, six speed manual transmission with electric shift, KCM custom twin disc clutch, adjustable suspension and Superformance BRM style knock off wheels.

The prior auction description also noted a custom suede interior with MOMO electronics, air conditioning, Passport 360 radar, retractable GPS display, stereo system with subwoofer and electric mirrors. The car was further represented as being listed in the Shelby World Registry.

The car is currently titled in Indiana as a 2009 Ford GT, VIN GT40P2176.

The current Indiana title lists the Title Type as “Normal” and carries a “Rebuilt Vehicle” brand. The odometer is listed as exempt.

Since that appearance, the current owner has continued to improve and sort the car. The previous green exterior treatment was removed and the body was refinished in its current silver with black center stripes. The car has also received more than $7,300 in documented 2026 service and repair work, including a replacement Superformance radiator, battery replacement, electrical work, door adjustment and interior panel repairs.

Chassis dyno sheet records 850.36 horsepower and 746.7 lb ft of torque at the wheels, providing documented output for the car in its current configuration.

CONDITION

The car presents as a purpose built enthusiast car rather than a restored original or untouched showpiece.

The silver finish presents well overall with normal imperfections consistent with use, age and the nature of the build. Detailed photos are provided throughout the gallery showing the exterior finish, underside, engine compartment, mechanical systems, cockpit, wheels and trim.

The interior shows light wear consistent with the construction and use of the car.

As with any highly modified specialty vehicle, prospective buyers are encouraged to inspect the car personally or arrange for an independent inspection before purchase.

WHY WE LOVE IT

The Superformance GT40 is already one of the more convincing ways to experience the proportions and layout of Ford's original GT40 without stepping into seven figure original car territory.

This one is something entirely different.

The 427, twin turbos and Ricardo 6 Speed Manual Transaxle with Electronic/Sequential Shift Control fundamentally change the character of the car while leaving the visual formula largely intact. At 850 horsepower to the wheels, it has far more performance than the appearance alone suggests, but the build remains centered around the mechanical simplicity and raw layout that makes the GT40 interesting in the first place.

It is not trying to be an original GT40.

It is a very serious interpretation of one.

TITLE & DOCUMENTATION
