OVERVIEW
The 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP represented the highest-performance version of Pontiac's Australian-built rear-wheel-drive sports sedan. Powered from the factory by the 6.2-liter LS3 V8, the GXP was available with either an automatic or the desirable 6-speed manual transmission found in this example.
This GXP takes the original formula further with the addition of a positive-displacement supercharger and upgraded cold-air intake, while retaining the factory 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel-drive configuration.
Finished in red over a distinctive red and black GXP interior, the car currently shows 63,939 miles and retains the equipment and appearance that distinguish the GXP from the standard G8 and G8 GT.
ENGINE & SUPERCHARGER
Power comes from GM's 6.2-liter LS3 V8, upgraded in this example with a positive-displacement supercharger system.
The installation includes the supercharger assembly, dedicated belt drive and pulley arrangement, revised induction plumbing and an upgraded cold-air intake system.
The supercharger builds on the LS3's naturally strong torque characteristics while maintaining the straightforward layout and drivability that make the LS-powered GXP such an appealing performance sedan.
The engine compartment presents cleanly, with the supercharger and supporting components integrated neatly into the LS3 installation.
6-SPEED MANUAL & DRIVELINE
The GXP is equipped with the desirable 6-speed manual transmission, operated through a console-mounted shifter and conventional three-pedal arrangement.
Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through the GXP's limited-slip rear differential.
The combination of a supercharged LS3, manual transmission and rear-wheel drive gives this example a particularly straightforward performance-oriented specification.

CARGO AREA
The G8 retains the everyday practicality of a conventional four-door sedan despite its performance-oriented drivetrain. The fully carpeted trunk provides substantial cargo capacity and includes a factory cargo retention net. A rear-seat pass-through provides additional flexibility for longer items, while the rear center armrest incorporates storage and cupholders. The battery is mounted in the trunk behind a carpeted access panel.
OWNERSHIP & HISTORY
The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows two previous owners and no accidents or damage reported. The G8 was initially titled in Missouri in May 2009 with 75 miles recorded. The second owner acquired the car in 2010, after which registration history consistently places the GXP in Indiana. CARFAX records approximately 15 years and seven months of ownership with the second owner.
The accompanying Indiana title further documents the car's early history and records 5,235 actual miles when issued in November 2010.
SERVICE HISTORY
The GXP has documented service history extending back through its long-term ownership.
At 44,940 miles in September 2013, Hare Chevrolet completed a maintenance inspection, four-wheel alignment and steering and suspension inspection.
At 51,110 miles in December 2013, documented work included maintenance inspection, A/C service, cabin air filter service, engine service, alignment, fuel system service, power steering fluid service and suspension inspection.
At 56,681 miles in May 2020, Hare Chevrolet performed another maintenance inspection along with coolant and transmission fluid services.
RECENT SERVICE
A substantial round of mechanical servicing and preparation was completed by Andy Mohr Automotive Group in June 2026.
The accompanying invoice totals $4,989.57 and includes:

A misfire encountered during testing was traced to a spark plug, which was replaced before the vehicle was successfully retested. The manual transmission and rear differential also received fresh fluids as part of the service.
Total documented work from the visit was $4,989.57
CONDITION
The GXP presents as a well-kept driver with normal evidence of use consistent with its age and mileage. The red exterior retains strong overall color and gloss. Detailed photography documents scattered stone chips, minor cosmetic marks, some age-related wear to exterior trim and a localized paint imperfection on the rear spoiler. The red and black interior remains attractive and retains its GXP-specific seating, trim and instrumentation. Minor wear is visible on portions of the upholstery and interior surfaces. The engine compartment, trunk, door jambs, wheels and other normally overlooked areas have been photographed in detail to provide an accurate representation of the vehicle.
WHY WE LOVE IT
The G8 GXP came at an unusual point in Pontiac's history.
Built by Holden in Australia, it combined a rear-wheel-drive sedan platform with GM's 6.2-liter LS3 V8 at a time when naturally aspirated V8 performance sedans were already becoming less common. The available 6-speed manual made the GXP considerably more unusual. This example builds on that combination with a supercharged LS3, while retaining the 6-speed manual, Brembo brakes, GXP-specific red and black interior and practical four-door layout.
Its long-term ownership history and recent comprehensive service further provide useful context for a car that has been driven and enjoyed rather than stored as a low-mileage collector piece.
